Hero Shot

Detail Shot - showing light entering the underground space

With my focus on the complex structure of machines and the bold nature of designs, the curves in the building intertwine with the collection of rooms to mimic the multiple compartments within machines. Sitting in water, the upper levels appear to float while the lower level becomes integrated within the environment. The building is nestled in rocky terrain to create a sense of protection and shelter with the rooms being very open. The lower level is striking and solid to reflect the bold designs of the client.

In my detail shot the three levels of the building join together revealing the materials and shapes that set each floor apart to be unique. The wooden curves of the upper floor sits in harmony with the surrounding environment. The open space of the ground floor can be seen revealing its use as a gallery space for the clients. The lower level is engulfed in water with an outstretched arm allowing natural light to enter the cavernous space. All three areas are focused around the need for natural light to enhance the design work of the clients.
